Our Location

Nevey Shalom is located in the heart of the City of Bowie, Maryland, USA. Bowie is located approximately 20 miles east of Washington, DC, and approximately 15 miles west of the Maryland state capitol, Annapolis. Bowie is connected to other communities by two main arteries: US 50/301, running east-west, and Route 301/3/97, running north-south. (View Map of Area)

Bowie is approximately 8 miles from the New Carrollton Metro station. Bowie is served by Metrobus, and has its own park-and-ride lot. More information on mass transit can be found at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Web Site.

Bowie has its own amenities, such as Allen Pond Park, where festivals like the BowieFest in June, the July 4th celebration in July, and the Arts Expo in October, take place; in the summer are weekly concerts in the park and a monthly movie outdoors. Bowie has its own dog park, and several private pool and tennis clubs which have memberships available. Bowie also has its own newly-built gymnasium and senior center, as well as its own health center.

Nearby is the Baysox baseball stadium, and a few miles away is the Six Flags adventure park. Commuting to the University of Maryland at College Park and Prince George's Community College is also relatively easy, and in the northern part of Bowie is Bowie State University.

The cost of living in Bowie has been increasing over the past two years; however, a home in Bowie is more affordable than similar homes elsewhere in the Washington metropolitan area.
