The Movie Critic
The Veils of Vashti
A musical. This is the story of a beautiful, talented, young dancer. She dances her
way to the top of her profession and into the palace of the king. Although there are
many lovely dance and song scenes, we felt that the story line was weak, and the ending
was disappointing. We give the movie two stars. **
The New Adventures of 0008
This thriller is about the further escapades of the master manipulator, More DiChai.
In this fast-moving plot, the hero manages to save the life of the monarch by very
clever detective work. This movie shows that not all adventures belong to the young.
We loved the plot and the way this smooth operator uses his brains to solve mysteries.
We give this movie three stars. ***
Loving Story
In this moving drama, reminiscent of that classic, "A Star Is Born", an
unknown young woman wins the love of the king. Not only is she beautiful, but brave
and brainy. The part of Esther is played with grace by that talented teen star, Molly
Rebecca. This story will bring tears to your eyes and joy to your heart. We loved the
ending. We have to give this one four stars. ****
The Man Who Could Not Be King
We thought this story of a bumbling "bad guy" was overacted and too
klotchy to be believable. The director, Hey Menn, made the ending wooden and
predictable. Only one star for this travesty. *
