Campbell Soup Labels
Campbell Soup labels are being collected by the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home for Children,
an orphanage for the children of deceased veterans.
Please save any of these labels that you may have and put them in a bag in the box in the synagogue lobby. Theda
Rosenblum has undertaken this project and she will be in charge of collecting the Campbell Soup labels. This is a
worthy cause and helping out will cost you nothing but the time it takes to bring the labels to the synagogue lobby.
FYI, Campbell's Vegetarian Vegetable Soup is now certified kosher by the Orthodox Union. The soup should be in the
grocery stores in this area now.
Samples for the Homeless
Theda Rosenblum wants to remind everyone that she is still collecting unopened sample-sized personal products to be
distributed to the homeless. Please leave your donations in the box in the synagogue lobby.
Student-led Services
Please note that Friday evening student-led services start at 7:30pm, instead of 8:00pm.
Dates of these services are:
- January 23, 2004
- March 26, 2004
- June 11, 2004
Come and enjoy the services and show your support for the students. Just remember to come at 7:30pm instead of 8:00pm for these three dates.
Help needed for Minyans
We are trying to have minyans on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:45pm for those people who are saying Kaddish.
If you would come just one evening a week, it would be greatly appreciated.
The evening minyans are held in the synagogue library.
Thank you for your help.
Reminder: Women's Head Coverings
Women who go up on the bimah during Shabbat or Holiday services are requested to wear a head covering.
Please do not cause someone to have to remind you.
Head coverings are available for you if you do not have one of your own.
Katz Kosher Supermarket
We are pleased to welcome a new advertiser, Katz Kosher Supermarket, to the Megillah.
The next time you are in that store, please stop by the office, tell them you are from Bowie, and thank them for their
ad in our synagogue newsletter.
Ads placed in the Megillah help to defray the cost of publishing and mailing.
Please try to patronize our advertisers. And, of course, let them know that you saw their ad in the Megillah.

Chanukah Party a Big Success!!
On Sunday, December 21, 2004, there was a Chanukah program and dinner at our synagogue
sponsored by Shaare Tikvah. For all of us who attended, there were songs, a wonderful
dinner (including latkes made by the "Latke King"), skits by the children of the
Hebrew school, and everything tied together with lots of talking, laughing, and a hamisheh feeling.
Lots of thanks go to all of the people who did the cooking, setting up, and cleaning up.
We look forward to going again next year!
