Playgroup and Tots
Moms and Tots Continue to Enjoy Monthly Play Dates
Nevey Shalom's classroom #5 was transformed into a children's playroom almost
a year ago. Since that time, local moms and their young children have been meeting
each month to play, socialize, and educate their children about Jewish customs and
ideals.
In September, the children participated in an arts and crafts project designed to
encourage discussion about Rosh Hashanah. They took halved apples, dipped
them in paint, and made "apple prints." Clear contact paper was applied to create
place mats for Rosh Hashanah, and of course, the children had apples and honey
at snack time.
Please join us next month. The playgroup is held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m on the
last Friday of the month. Call Marci Ruderman for more information.
Tot Shabbat
Join us on the first Friday of the month for a special Shabbat service for our
young children and grandchildren. Rabbi Resnick and Shula lead the children in
prayers, songs and dances geared for little ears. The children have fun learning
about Shabbat and being able to participate in services.
On November 14th, we planned the Tot Shabbat service to coincide with the
Religious School's Shabbat Family Dinner. Besides a kid-friendly service, there
will be kid-friendly food such as hot dogs and chicken nuggets. Last year, the
tots participated in this event and had a wonderful time. Except for November,
Tot Shabbat services are held on the first Friday of each month from 6:30 - 7:15
p.m. with a small oneg following.
