Siyum Bikurim

If you are both a Jewish male and the first-born child, you are supposed to fast during the daylight hours of the 14th of Nisan (the day of the first Seder). This year, the corresponding date on the secular calendar is April 16th.

However, there is also a requirement to have a celebratory feast upon completing the study of a unit in the Mishnah. Should the completion ("siyum") take place on the 14th of Nisan, the meal is held and the fast is cancelled.

We are planning a short "siyum" (completion party) on Wednesday, April 16, at 9:00am at Nevey Shalom. Everyone is welcome to attend.
